Manicure Monday

I finally used my newest Chanel polish in the color Vertigo. In the bottle you can see a faint shade of purple swirled around. I think that's what makes this polish look like a light black color. The formula is great and I love the color. This polish retails for $27 which is way too much even for a splurge. I found mine in eBay for a fraction if the cost.

Cheek Routine

Here is a run down of the products I use on my cheeks on a daily basis including bronzer, blush, and a highlighter.

1: Bronzer
Bronzer is used to help contour your face to make your cheek bones pop. It also helps to slim your face a little. You'll want to buy a matte bronzer if you want to use it for contouring. The ones with a bit of sparkle are used to brighten up your complexion during the summer months.
I recently picked up a new bronzer I had been eyeing for a few months.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil

I bought the small version for $15 at Ulta and it came with a brush. It lasts forever so there was no need to buy the full size.

I use bronzer under my cheek bones and around my hairline on my forehead.
Here is a fun fact about the Chocolate Soleil. It actually smells like chocolate. Just a nice little bonus.

2:  Blush
I use different blushes on my cheek bones. I am currently using a Milani Baked Blush, NYX blush or a Wet N Wild blush.

Milani Baked Blush

It also comes with a mirror and brush.

NYX Blush

Wet N Wild Blush (this blush is very pigmented so you need to use a very light hand)

3: Highlighter
I recently received a sample of Benefit's Watt's Up so that's what I've been using right above my cheek bone. After you swipe it in just blend it out with your fingers.

Those are the products I've been using lately for my cheek routine. What cheek products are your favorite?

Lorac The Stylist Eye Shadow Palette (HauteLook)

This week I received my latest Lorac purchase from HauteLook. I bought The Stylist Eye Shadow Palette for $15.
The colors are perfect for fall. Today was the first time I got to play with it. The shadows are so creamy and very pigmented.
I had so much fun playing with the shadows this morning. I have become such a huge fan of Lorac. I feel it's definitely worth the extra money because it won't disappoint you. Here is the look I came up with today.

I can't wait to play with it some more. I so happy with this purchase and the brand Lorac.
BTW:  Lorac will be on HauteLook tomorrow at 10:00 CST.

Laura Geller

Ulta had the Laura Geller Balance-N-Brighten Foundation on sale for $20 so I thought I would pick one up. I've been looking for a new foundation product and have heard great things about this product.
This is a baked foundation in the color medium. Mine came in a set with a brush.

I've been using this product for about a week and am loving it. I use it after I put on my tinted mousturizer and Benefit Porefessional primer. It gives me a good amount of coverage but it's definitely not a full coverage foundation. I notice that it really evens out my complexion which can be pretty red at times. I feel like it stays on most of the day. I only have to touch up my t zone with a matte powder mid day.
Laura Geller products can be pretty expensive but you can always find good deals on them. There are lots of makeup sets that are priced really good and they also show up on HauteLook often. In fact, it's available on HauteLook right now so go check them out.

Each month I'll post a few items that were my favorites that month. For the month of September, I'm posting about a few items I use everyday or very often. They are also all drugstore items so they are very affordable.

Awesome to use in the t-zone and as a quick touch up in the middle if the day. I actually have 2 of these. One in my makeup bag and one in my purse.

ELF Eyebrow Kit
$3 at Walmart and Target

Rimmel ScandelEyes in Nude
Cost is around $3
Use in your lower waterline to brighten up your eyes.

Jordana Twist and Shine Lip Balm Stain

NYX Butter Gloss

Has anyone ever described a lip product to you and used the word butter?  I've heard that before but never believed it until now. NYX Butter Gloss seriously feels like butter on your lips.

It's the silkiest feeling gloss I've ever tried plus it doesn't feel sticky. I found these at Ulta for $4.99 and they are available in 12 different shades. Here are the two shades I have.
The colors look amazing and glossy. They are pretty neutral looking and would be a great addition to anyone's makeup collection. I would definitely try more of these. I also think these would be great stocking stuffers. It's not too early to start thinking about Christmas.

Manicure Monday

This weekend I went to Walgreens and saw a Sinful Colors Halloween display. Of course I couldn't help myself and had to check out their fall nail polish colors. I picked up a sparkly purple color called Daddy's Girl. It's definitely love at first sight.
The picture just doesn't do it justice. The sparkles are so amazing in the light.
Sinful Colors Nail Polish is available at Walgreens and Walmart for about $1.99. Can't beat the price for pretty good quality polish.

Fall Inspired Makeup

Since today is the first day of fall, I decided to use fall colored makeup.
I went through all my makeup and dug out what I feel to be fallish colors.
Eyes:  I used the Elf Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum all over the lid and NYX in Utopia Gold in the crease.
Cheek: Wet n Wild in Heather Silk (this blush is very pigmented so you only need a little)
Lips: Jordana Twist and Shine Moituruzing Balm Stain in Cranbury Crush

I'm loving the cooler weather and so excited to wear sweatshirts and sweaters. What is your favorite thing about fall?
